TALKING WITH PURPOSE
enhanced talk therapy for men

Anger isn't the problem. It's the symptom. Something underneath it (disrespect, powerlessness, loss) keeps pulling the trigger, and the anger is just what everyone else sees. We find what's actually driving it and give you real tools to stay in control before it costs you something you can't get back.
-
Depression doesn't always look like sadness. Sometimes it looks like not caring anymore, going through the motions, or wondering what the point is. We figure out what's underneath the flatness and start rebuilding from there. Slowly at first, then not so slowly.
-
Anxiety is loud and it lies. It tells you the worst-case scenario is the only scenario, then makes you feel it in your chest before anything has even happened. We work on quieting that noise. Not by pretending it isn't there, but by changing your relationship to it so it stops running the show.
-
Substances work, until they don't. By the time most men come to me, they already know the using isn't the real issue. It's what the using is solving for. We go after that thing, and build something to replace it that doesn't cost you everything.
-
Most relationship problems are the same argument on a loop. Different words, same outcome. We slow that loop down, figure out what you're actually trying to say, and work on saying it in a way that lands instead of detonates.
Talking isn’t always helpful.
We will do it the helpful way.
We're going to skip the psychobabble and cut to the core.
You don't need to know what a "polyvagal response" is or "discover your inner child" to do effective therapy.
You just need therapy that works.
