Reflections and Reminders about mental health. Built for men. Useful for anyone.
You entered the raffle at Rally for Recovery, which means you were there: in the room, showing up for recovery in Denver. That counts. I was glad to sponsor the Rally, and glad you came.
If your name gets drawn, I'll reach out at the email you entered. Either way, here's what's in the deck and how to use it.
Questions worth sitting with. No right answers, no score. Just something to turn over for a while.
"What would change if you let someone carry half the weight?"
Short, true things that are easy to forget when it gets hard. Read one when you need it.
"Talking about it doesn't make it more real. It's already real."
There's no wrong way. A few that work:
Pull a card in the morning. Carry it with you. Notice where it shows up.
Pull one with a friend, a partner or your group. Answer it out loud.
Desk, truck, nightstand. Wherever you'll actually see it.
Most men were never handed a language for what goes on inside. So it stays inside. This deck is a starting point: a few words to work with, one card at a time.
If a card hits harder than you expected, that's worth paying attention to. And it's the kind of thing I help men work through every week.
