Talking with Purpose

Brian Mulligan, LPCC, CAT

Some therapists handle tough topics with kid gloves, afraid to rock the boat. I see it differently. Facing hard things head-on is one of the most respectful things we can do in therapy. People don’t come here to tiptoe around the truth. They come because they’re ready to figure things out and start living differently. My job is to honor that courage with honesty, not avoidance.

That doesn’t mean I’ll push you where you’re not ready to go or force conversations you don’t want to have. What it does mean is that I’ll tell you the truth - clearly and directly - because you deserve that kind of compassion and respect. I want to join your team and help you win.

For some, that means climbing out of depression and getting back to joy. For others, it’s taming anxiety, adapting to big life changes, breaking the cycle of numbing out with substances, or learning to control anger before it controls you. And sometimes, it’s just needing a place to talk, sort things out, and get real - without feeling judged or criticized. These are the kinds of challenges I help men face every day.

If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and ready to make some change, the first step is a click away.
